We cannot take prescription requests over the phone or by email.

Non-urgent advice: Checking your prescription status

The average turnaround time for repeat prescriptions is 2 working days, for acute prescriptions is 3 working days.

If you wish to check whether your prescription has been issued, you can:

  • check the app or website you ordered your prescription from

pills in hand

Collect your prescription

You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • phoning or visiting the GP practice
  • at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Non-urgent advice: Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to frequently asked questions:

We have a pharmacy technician, Faye, who is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for advice and guidance about your medications.

She can review and optimise your medications, check your blood pressure and monitor certain medications to ensure safe prescribing.  Faye aslo leads our smoking cessation service providing clinics on Wednesday mornings.

If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription, phone us and ask to speak to our pharmacy technician.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
